Q. What is acoustic treatment?

A. Let's put it very simple :

1. Acoustic treatment is to absorb unwanted reflections within a room, so listener can enjoy true direct sound from a recording and/or play back system. Clearer sound field and better sound imaging.

2. Balance frequency within a room by making low, mid and high frequency die away at the same time ( Flat respond ), eliminate room sound, like a boomy room because of bass frequency fade away much slower than high frequency. Creating a room with Flat respond is extremely important for mixing, tracking and all serious listening area such as home theater and music hall etc. - Pls. visit acoustic info page for details.

Q. How many AygoFoam should I use?

A. For a small room of 3m x 4m (10ft x16ft ) 6 to 8 AygoFoam 2040 sets will give a significant improvement. Put AygoFoam Basstrap on all 4 corners then use AygoFoam flutter stop on front, rear, two side walls and ceiling for broadband absorption to eliminate unwanted reflection.

Q. Why AygoFoam is better than other similar products?

A. Professional acoustic foam with professional looking and effective sound control. AygoFoam 2040 and 2020 combined basstrap and flutter stop in one Foam set, you don;t have to buy a Basstrap separately, and you can make many profession looking patent when combining 2040 with 2020.

AygoFoam is open cell foam specially formulated for acoustic purpose, there are many egg crate type packing foam claimed as acoustic foam, in fact they are just cheap made close cell packing foam.

Q. Is AygoFoam fire proof.

A. There is no fire proof foam on the market, but Aygofoam is formulated with a flame-retardant chemical that has the effect of retarding our acoustic foam from flame ignition. Please check out this CA117 fire safety code.

Q. Why corners are so important?
A. Cause all room modes meet at corners, modes are our no.1 enemy, treating corners is the first priority of all Pros.

Q. Will it be better if placing AygoFoam very closed to each others?
A. You don't have to. All sides of AygoFoam is designed to absorb sound as well, AygoFoam modular design will add diffusion to your room, preventing a room sounding too dead. So leave space between panels. Spaces of 120cm (2fts) between panels will give you a more live sounding room. And spacing of about 60cm (1ft) between panels will give a a better control of room reverberation, that is good for mixing room or small vocal booth.

Q. What is a diffuser? and where we put them?
A. A diffuser is used to reflect (diffuse) sound in a wider angle to form a wider listening sweet spot, Diffusers create nice ambient for tracking and keep your room from sounding too dead. For a bigger live room, you can place them almost anywhere, its' depending on how much diffusion you want. For a mixing room, put them on rear wall behind the engineer. Check out here.
